Active CITY children are involved in a variety of different sports these days, and while this is great news for kid’s health, parents need to be aware of the risk of mouth injuries.
All CITY children participating in contact sports can reduce the risk of mouth and tooth injuries by wearing a mouthguard. Properly fitted mouth protectors can prevent broken or lost teeth as well as lip, tongue, and jaw injuries.
Kids mouth protectors come in a variety of styles. ‘One size fits all,’ boil and bite, and custom. Not surprisingly, custom-fitted mouth protectors are the safest and can be made by your NEAREST LARGE CITY dentist to make sure your child has a perfect fit.
Mouth protectors are extremely important for NEAREST LARGE CITY children undergoing orthodontic treatment. Metal braces can cause serious oral injuries in instances of impact. (It can also cost NEAREST LARGE CITY parents a bundle to replace broken braces.)

In the eighties, the importance of fiber garnered a lot of public attention in STATE. Bran appeared in cereals, muffins, and cookies, and whole wheat bread sales skyrocketed. You don’t hear much about fiber these days, but wise CITY parents still serve high-fiber meals and snacks daily.
We all know that fiber is important for healthy bowel function, but this is not its only benefit. NEAREST LARGE CITY people who eat a high-fiber diet keep their cholesterol numbers in check. Numerous studies have shown a relationship between fiber intake and LDL levels.
CITY children fed diets rich in fiber are more likely to maintain a healthy weight. Fiber-filled meals have lower calorie-volume ratios. Fiber is also important for blood sugar, as it can slow the rate of blood sugar absorption.
Do your NEAREST LARGE CITY children get enough fiber? School lunches rarely feature whole wheat breads and most kid-friendly snacks have too little fiber and too many empty calories.
Though it takes a little extra effort to locate fiber rich foods in many NEAREST LARGE CITY grocery stores, everyone in the family will benefit from increasing their fiber intake.
Xocai has several high fiber products that kids love. The Xocai X Protein Meal Shake has 8 grams of fiber per serving. Xocai Activ provides 28% of the daily recommended value for dietary fiber. Xocai healthy snacks and beverages are a great way to help your kids stay healthy.

First time NEAREST LARGE CITY parents have many issues to deal with as they prepare for the arrival of their little one, but nothing is more important than crib safety. The federal government has issued new guidelines for crib manufacturers.
As of June 28, 2011, all cribs manufactured and sold in NEAREST LARGE CITY and nationally must meet the new standards. The guidelines also apply to used cribs that are resold. Deadly drop-side rail cribs are now prohibited. The new rules also affect crib slat strength, mattress supports, hardware and the amount of testing required.
The new crib guidelines can be found at:

There’s a new way for NEAREST LARGE CITY kids to learn how to ride a bike. At first glance, balance or no-pedal bikes look just like any other kid’s bike. Look closer, however, and you notice that they are missing something: pedals.
In my CITY neighborhood cul-de-sac, I have seen toddlers as young as two hop on these bikes, scoot around for a few minutes and in no time at all, they are balancing like a pro. NEAREST LARGE CITY balance bike sellers say that when a child is ready for the real thing, no training wheels are required.
If you are interested in getting a no-pedal bike for your child, don’t buy a size up. Both of your child’s feet should be firmly planted on the ground when he or she is sitting on the seat.
I promote children’s health and fitness in NEAREST LARGE CITY and sell a nutritional product that many CITY families enjoy. To learn about the top children’s nutrition pick of the year, call or email me today.

When I was growing up in NEAR CITY THREE, my friends and I never ran out of things to do, and most of our activities provided at least a little bit of exercise. I have fond memories of playing kick-the-can on warm summer nights and swimming at the old NEAR CITY THREE community pool.
Unfortunately, many of today’s NEAR CITY THREE kids spend hours daily in sedentary activities. Exercise supports our physical, mental, and emotional health. Perhaps you might enjoy participating in some of these with your son or daughter.
Fun kids exercise ideas:
- Fly a kite (It’s even more fun if you sing the song from Mary Poppins while you are doing it.)
- Wheels: bike, skateboard, longboard, inline skates, rip stick, scooter (don’t forget a helmet!)
- Rake the yard
- Hula hoop
- Martial arts
- Hacky sack
- Weight lifting
I am concerned about the state of children’s health in STATE and like to share specifics about health issues in my blog.

Hello NEAR CITY TWO parents! Welcome to my NEAREST LARGE CITY children’s health blog. I am an advocate for improved health and safety for NEAR CITY TWO kids. I also sell an exceptional nutritional product called FAVORITE PRODUCT. If you would like to learn more about one of the best snacks for kids, call me today at 555.555.5555.
I like lists, they are short and to-the-point. Every once in a while I run across a ‘Top Five’ or ‘Top Ten’ article such as: ‘The Ten Best Kid-Friendly Restaurants in NEAR CITY TWO,’ ‘The Top Five Nutritional Kids Foods,’ or ‘The Five Best Family Attractions in the NEAREST LARGE CITY Area.’
I recently read an article on Forbes.com that lists the safest cars of the year1. Here are three that caught my eye with my comments thrown in:
1) The Tesla Model S four-door electric sedan. (I’ve never heard of this car but the makers claim it will go ‘300 zero-emission miles on one charge.’1 That’s a lot of trips to your closest NEAR CITY TWO grocery store with no adverse environmental impact!)
2) BMW Five Series. (This isn’t your ordinary NEAR CITY TWO kid hauler but it sure is pretty.)
3) Chevrolet Cruze. (This small sedan has the most budget-friendly MSRP of $16,275.)
As NEAREST LARGE CITY parents, our children’s’ health and safety should be our top priority. When it comes time to buy a new family car in NEAR CITY TWO, remember to check the safety ratings.

It shouldn’t cost a fortune to get your CITY kids fun, educational toys. Here at the CITY Children’s Health Blog we want to provide parents with some ideas to keep their young children’s minds healthy. This homemade activity for toddlers uses an egg carton and encourages development of fine motor skills.
Empty egg carton
Plastic Easter eggs, in assorted colors
Card stock, or other heavy paper
Puff balls, in assorted colors
Many of these supplies are probably already in your NEAREST LARGE CITY area homes. For the rest, they can easily be found at any NEAR CITY THREE, NEAR CITY TWO, or NEAR CITY ONE dollar store.
NEAREST LARGE CITY parents can take the card stock, cut it into cards, and draw an egg shape on each card. Then color each egg in a different color-combination. Have your kids draw a card, and when they see they color combination, they’ll take the plastic eggs from the carton and assemble the same combination from the eggs.
Your CITY children will have fun while keeping their minds active and healthy as they practice learning their colors and copying color patterns.
Another great activity for NEAREST LARGE CITY kids is to have them put colored puff balls inside the same color of egg. For safety, make sure the puff balls aren’t a choking hazard.

NEAR CITY ONE parents know that sleep is important for their child’s health. If your CITY child has a hard time falling asleep, you may want to try a bedtime snack. Well-chosen evening snacks can help ease the transition to sleep.
Eating too much before bedtime is never a good idea for anyone, but a small snack may be just the ticket to dreamland for little ones in NEAR CITY ONE. Foods containing the amino acid tryptophan are a natural sleep aid, especially if they are coupled with carbohydrates, which help make tryptophan more available to the brain.
Bedtime foods you can purchase at your local CITY grocer include soy milk, dairy products, nuts, seeds, and legumes, such as lentils or chick peas. These foods coupled with a healthy carbohydrate make the perfect bedtime snack. Your CITY kiddos will be visiting the sandman before you know it.
Try a glass of soy milk with a few whole grain crackers or string cheese and apple slices. Low-fat cottage cheese with pineapple helps my munchkins fall asleep.

Hello, welcome to my NEAR CITY THREE children’s health and nutrition blog. Today’s topic is teen prescription drug abuse.
Most NEAR CITY THREE teens will be offered an illegal prescription medication at one time or another. They are sold at STATE high schools and passed out at teen ‘pharm’ parties. STATE parents should realize that no child is immune. Here are some tips for NEAR CITY THREE parents from Better Medicine: 1
Start talking about the dangers when they’re preteens. Speak early, often, and clearly.
Stay involved in your child’s life.
Emphasize how misusing medication can destroy relationships and keep him or her from achieving goals, such as getting into a certain college or landing a future job.
Teach your child to say ‘no’ firmly but kindly, give a reason, then change the subject or leave the situation.
Monitor your child’s internet usage for signs of prescription drug involvement.1
NEAR CITY THREE parents should keep their medications locked away. It is also important to realize that children watch how their mother and father use prescription medications. I encourage all NEAREST LARGE CITY parents to use prescription meds safely and legally.

Parents in the NEAR CITY ONE area know how important it is for kids to express themselves artistically. This can be a great boon for a child’s cognitive development as well as their emotional health.
But sometimes the crayons and paper can get a little boring for kids. Luckily, there are lots of easy ways to encourage NEAR CITY TWO and NEAR CITY THREE children to create pictures and designs with unique materials and methods.
One of these methods is mosaics. Instead of drawing on paper, cut pieces of colored paper into small pieces. Then, allow your kids to organize the small pieces into a picture or design. Once they’ve completed their picture, give them some glue and have them adhere the mosaic to another complete piece of paper.
And you don’t have to stop at paper. There are plenty of materials that can be made into a mosaic.
A favorite material is dried beans. They are inexpensive, come in a variety of colors, sizes and shapes, and can be found in any NEAREST LARGE CITY, NEAR CITY ONE, or NEAR CITY TWO grocery store. However, remember that dried beans can be a choking hazard, so only use these and other small objects with older children.
